Mat’s finally got his hands on the new Audi RS5, and he’s putting it up against one of its biggest rivals - the BMW M3 Competition!
In previous races, the latest BMW M3 was able to walk over the previous generation RS5. So will the all-new iteration, with hybrid power now added, have what it takes to avenge these losses? Let’s take a look at the stats…
The new Audi RS5 is powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, coupled with an electric motor. Combined, the new RS5 puts down 639hp and 825Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and the hybrid power adds a whole lot of weight, with the RS5 tipping the scales at 2,355kg!
Next up comes the BMW. It’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six, and this produces 530hp and 650Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed auto, and it’s a whole lot lighter than the RS5, coming in at 1,790kg!
