It’s time for a Porsche vs Porsche drag race!
We’ve got Mat in the new Porsche 911 Turbo S, and he wants to see just how different the performance is compared to the new first Porsche 911 hybrid - the new 911 GTS.
The result may seem like a forgone conclusion, but will the GTS prove tough opposition for the Turbo? Let’s take a closer look at the stats…
Starting with the GTS, it’s powered by a 3.6-litre hybrid with a single electric turbo. It produces 541hp and 610Nm, and it weighs in at 1,595kg. As new, it costs around £139,400.
Then we come to the Turbo S. It’s powered by the same engine, but in this instance it has two electric turbos! These work together to put down 711hp and 800Nm, and it tips the scales at 1,725kg. As new, it’s just shy of £200,000, costing £199,100.
So the Turbo S is up on power, but it’s also the heavier of the two cars - could this prove decisive?! There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
