The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is at once many things: the most powerful Mercedes (and AMG) road car ever; AMG’s first-ever series-production electric car; and a replacement for the first-generation (petrol-powered) AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. All which means it’s got to be oh-so-fast, exuberant like the best V8 AMGs but without any engine, and able to go toe-to-toe with the likes of the Porsche Taycan Turbo and BMW M5. Has it got any hope of taking on those rivals, as well as living up to the promise that comes with 1169hp?
