The New BMW iX3 50 xDrive is here — and this isn’t just another electric SUV: it’s the start of BMW’s modern revolution! This is the Neue Klasse era, a full reset of the brand that will shape more than 40 future BMWs, including the cars enthusiasts care deeply about like the future M3!
When the EV boom kicked off, most brands seemed convinced we wanted every electric car to look like a spaceship. BMW gave us the iX. Mercedes gave us the EQ range. And for a lot of us, that whole phase missed the point completely. What many buyers actually wanted was something cleaner, more timeless, and with a bit more class from the past. Enter this new #BMW #iX3 in M Sport Pro variant!
In this video, I take a full first look at the BMW iX3 50 xDrive, the first model on BMW’s all-new GEN6 electric platform, with a claimed 500 miles of range, 469hp, 645Nm, 400kW charging, and a complete rethink of BMW design both outside and inside. This is also the #SUV that introduces BMW’s controversial new cabin philosophy, including the Panoramic Vision display, the new central screen layout, the latest Operating System X, and three new steering wheel designs that, frankly, I think are going to divide opinion massively — we will look at them all.
We also get into the deeper technical side of the new iX3, including the 108.7kWh usable battery, redone motors, and the new the new Heart of Joy dynamic control computer that drives them. This car moves BMW on from the old iX3 and IX, to what feels like a quantum leap in the EV for them.
I’ll also go for a drive, and give some first impressions of the new iX3 on the road, to see whether BMW has managed to make this feel like a proper driver’s EV rather than just another mid-size electric family SUV. I also test the new launch control, sample the electric driving sounds, and see whether BMW’s updated driving modes and “Soft Stop” calibration actually improve the pedal feel in the real world.
Along the way, we also compare the new iX3 with some of its biggest rivals, including the Mercedes GLC Electric and Audi Q6 e-tron. BMW has come in aggressively on price too, so this is an important launch not just for the brand, but for the whole segment. In this video, we’ll cover:

So is this the EV BMW should have built from the start? Has Neue Klasse finally brought BMW back towards the sort of design language people actually wanted? And when this interior and tech package filters into future 3 Series, X5 and M cars, is that exciting… or slightly worrying?
This is the full first look at the new BMW iX3 50 xDrive! :)
