It’s time for an electric vs petrol drag race!
We’ve got our hands on the new Tesla Model 3 Performance, and it’s going head-to-head against the Audi RS7 Performance. The Tesla costs less than half the price of the Audi, but does it stand a chance over the quarter-mile? Let’s take a closer look…
Starting with the Audi, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce 630hp and 850Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels, and the car weighs in at 2,065kg. As new, it costs upwards of £133,000!
Then we have the Tesla. It’s powered by two electric motors, and they offer all-wheel drive. Combined, they can deliver 460hp and 650Nm. It weighs in at 1,839kg, and as new, it costs around £60,000.
So, does it stand a chance? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
